PETROVAC
AUGUST 2003.
We
decided that the summer excursion 2003. has to be in the
last week of august. We hoped that the crowd will be gone.
Unfortunately we were wrong. We, were lucky that the weather
conditions were good for diving but with a little rain so
it was no so overcrowded.
The water temperature was unusually high, about 27 degrees,
so we make the shallow dives last longer.
We
also took the opportunity to try out our new RIB. Now all
dives on remote location will be done from this boat.
7.5 m overall length, whit a payload of 3000 kg and equipped
with a Suzuki 4 stroke engine, this catamaran is made for
diving. This enable us to visit remote diving sites not
taking care about the weather conditions.
Because
we were only a small group of divers we were able to make
whole day diving trips including two dives.
The club members also had the opportunity to se a closed
circuit rebreather Buddy Inspiration in action. The dives
with this State of Art peace of equipment were made on TRIMIX.
They could also se the pro and contra comparing to a traditional
open circuit technical diving apparatus.
Under
supervision of instructors a group of younger dives made
a deep dive on a reef in front of Petrovac. The feeling
of nitrogen narcosis was a great experience.
Most
of the days were used to find new interesting sites. The
main thing was to find new location attractive to technical
divers. Technical diving training is now available at Triton
according to IANTD standards.
We
are sure that this will give our members new inspiration
and the will to go further with their training and education.
This excursion showed us that there are still many unexplored
diving sites waiting for us.
